Exhibitions Coordinator
Outside In is recruiting for the role of Exhibitions Coordinator. The Exhibitions Coordinator will work closely with the Exhibitions Manager to deliver an exciting programme of exhibitions at venues across the UK.
Job Description
This role will be focused on organising and delivering an existing programme of exhibitions including work on Outside In's National Exhibition, 'Shelter', at The New Art Gallery Walsall in the Midlands, and at Christie's, London. Outside In's exhibition programme for 2025 also includes exhibitions at the De La Warr Pavilion, and Pallant House Gallery.
We're looking for someone who can work well in a team and has excellent attention to detail when it comes to working on logistics and admin to support the exhibitions programme.
The Exhibitions Coordinator will be supporting a wide range of artists with different support needs, so excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn is essential.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract for 3-4 days (22..5-30 hours) a week depending on availability. From February 2025 (with the possibility of extension).
Job Requirements
Essential skills:
Significant experience of delivering and coordinating exhibitions
A proven interest and commitment to inclusion within the arts and a good understanding of the barriers within the sector
Experience working and supporting people with a range of support and access requirements with the ability to adapt to their individual needs
Ability to work collaboratively within a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated with excellent organisational and administrative skills
Experience in managing multiple priorities and working to deadlines
Experience in managing budgets and able to work accurately with numerical data
PC literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Zoom
Experience of working in partnership with external organisations
Job Responsibilities
Support exhibiting artists with completing contracts, packing and sending their artwork and providing general assistance with enquiries
Liaise with the hubs where artworks are dropped off around the UK
Arrange courier transport for artwork
Liaise with framers to ensure artworks are framed to a high quality and to meet deadlines
Order materials needed for install / deinstall and keep the budget up to date
Attend the install and deinstall if required
Conduct condition checks of artworks
Attend events such as private views and process sales at these events
Support the Exhibitions Manager with administration and other tasks as required
General administration, including conducting artwork condition checks and writing risk assessments
Collaborate with the communications team to provide content for social media and press
